Child Visitation Monitor Training Course
Our Child Visitation Monitor Training Course equips future monitors with the skills to professionally and impartially supervise visitations. Aligned with the 2024 California Rules of Court Standard 5.20, this program meets all state requirements. Participants receive a recognized certificate of completion upon successful training.
By completing this course, you will:
A Supervised Visitation Monitor is a trained, neutral party ensuring child safety during visits with a noncustodial parent. Courts may require supervision for protection. Services include on-site, off-site, phone monitoring, and safe exchanges. The monitor's role is to:
- Ensure child safety throughout the visit
- Document interactions between parent and child
- Provide secure supervision as required by the court
Becoming a Child Visitation Monitor is not only a fulfilling career but also a financially rewarding opportunity. Monitors can:
- Earn $45+ per hour as an independent professional.
- Work for supervised visitation agencies or facilities.
- Make a meaningful impact in their communities by ensuring child safety.
To receive a certificate of completion, participants must:
- Complete 24 hours of training as per the California Standards and Practices 5.20 and Family Code 3200.5
- Finish a free 2-hour online Mandated Reporter Training by the Department of Social Services
- Undergo LIVESCAN background checks and register with TrustLine
Important: This is not a certification but a certificate of completion, verifying that attendees have fulfilled the 24-hour training need.
To become a Child Visitation Monitor, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Have no DUI convictions in the past 5 years.
- Have no probation or parole record in the past 10 years.
- Have no history of child abuse or crimes against a person.
- Provide proof of auto insurance (if transporting children).
- Have no civil, criminal, or juvenile restraining orders in the past 10 years.
- Be fluent in the language spoken by the supervised party and child (or provide a neutral interpreter).
- Adhere to and enforce court orders regarding supervised visitation.
- Complete the 24-hour training program.
- Sign and submit the Declaration of Supervised Visitation Provider (FL-324P).
